Ken and Pat Rentz met in high school near Baltimore, Maryland.  They've been together ever since!  They had their first daughter before college so they moved down to Daytona Beach, Florida because Ken wanted to be an airline pilot.  Ken went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and received his degree in Aeronautical Science.  While living in Daytona Beach, they had their second daughter Jennifer.  After two years, Ken got a job with an airline that took him to RDU airport and they moved to North Carolina.  They rented for a few years before they bought a house nestled in the heart of Cary.  Ken was a successful commercial pilot for many years.  Patty worked for the North Carolina Bar Association for many years.  After years of experience, Ken decided he wanted to go out on his own, but he didn't just start with VIP Inspections.  Ken and Pat first started Kenco Construction.  They built two homes in Raleigh, NC.  That was fun, but Ken and Pat quickly realized they were after something different.  Still no VIP Inspections yet.  Ken is a computer whiz so they started CK Computers and they managed small business networks for years.  They were always thinking about what to do next, because while CK Computers worked, they didn't love it.  Ken and Pat already had some knowledge of real estate and then it hit them that home inspections was something that could be good for their family.  Ken wasted no time becoming a licensed home inspector in NC and VIP Home Inspections was started in 2003.  That was Jennifer's senior of high school.  Jenny went on to graduate from East Carolina Univeristy and moved back to Cary to start working.  The family business was growing quickly and Jenny joined her parents around 2010.  Ken and Pat Rentz have grown a small family owned and operated company to a full size home inspection firm with 6 licensed NC home inspectors.
